Committees & Membership Application

Ladies Out Loud is a group that needs participation, in order to work and be a successful group. Therefore, all members are required to join the Welcome Wagon and at least one additional committee. Take a few minutes to read all of the rules of the group and choose which committee(s) you would like to join.

As this is a new group, there are only a handful of committees, but there are many more planned for the future, so check back often.

LOL Welcome Wagon

This is a mandatory committee for all LOL members. Why? It's a great way to meet our new members ... and who doesn't like a little gifty in their guestbook?!?

Requirements:
1. You must join the LOL Welcome Wagon e-group on Yahoo.
2. Once a week, you will be asked to reply to a "roll call" email. Simply reply back with "I'm here" and you're all set!
3. You will be responsible for filling out a LOA (Leave of Absence) form if you will be away for awhile (up to one month).
4. Once a week, you will be emailed a list of new members. You will take a moment to head over to their site and sign their guestbook, Tagboard, or send them a note :-)  Here are the current LOL Welcome Wagon images ... or feel free to use your own!
5. The LOL Welcome Wagon Leader will also assign each newbie to an existing member. They will be responsible for spending 2 weeks helping our newest member get their feet wet, answering questions, educating them with our rules, philosophy, etc.

Welcome Wagon Rules:
1. If you are assigned a newbie, but are currently unavailable, that's fine. Just explain this to your LOL Welcome Wagon Leader, who will re-assign and catch up with you in the future.
2. Be friendly :-)
3. Be available to answer questions (No question is stupid!) and plan on sending a email at least once every 3 days.

Requirements:
1. You must join the LOL Snail Mail Swappers e-group on Yahoo.
2. Once a week, you will be asked to reply to a "roll call" email. Simply reply back with "I'm here" and you're all set!
3. You will be responsible for filling out a LOA (Leave of Absence) form if you will be away for awhile (up to one month).

Most of us live in really interesting areas (even though we all take that for granted) and a nice postcard, or handwritten note, or even a little box of chocolates is a great share!
5. The LOL Snail Mail Swapper Leader will assign members an assignment for one month. During that month, you can send as little, or as much as you want ... but be sure at least 3 postcard/notes/letters make their way out.
6. Once a month, check in with your LOL Snail Mail Swapper Leader with a quick note stating what you sent.

Let's talk about privacy:
1. It is your decision to join this committee. By joining, you agree to provide your personal mailing information. If you are uncomfortable about giving your home address information, consider using your work address (if that is appropriate).
2. The information that you provide is held by the LOL Founder Hipchick, the LOL Snail Mail Swapper Leader, and the member assigned.

Snail Mail Swappers Rules:
1. You must send three items over the course of the month.
2. Although we all love food treats, please do not send "unsealed" food to your Swap partner. If you have a local bakery that makes great cookies, have them seal them in a shrink wrapped package. Just like the old Halloween rule "Don't eat anything that looks suspicious."
3. Due to customs rules, never send food to members out of the US.
