Recruiting Committee Rules, Graphics and Codes

We have the best job around - we get to surf the web for new members and leave little invites in the a prospective member's guestbook, blog, wherever! I'm Hipchick, head of the Recruiters, and I know you're going to have a lot of fun.

This will be one of the more time consuming committees so, please ensure that you can commit to spending some time looking for quality member sites. If you cannot spend the time, then please consider joining one the other wonderful committees we have here at Ladies Out Loud.

Since LOL is a new online community, your responsibility is 7-10 sites visited per week and invite at least 3 sites to join LOL ... plus a quick reply to weekly roll call.

Rules: There are a few rules for a site to be considered for membership ... but most of them are common sense :-)

  1. Sites are not allowed to have pornography, child abuse, profanity, racism or prejudice.
  2. Sites must be child-friendly. That means, if a child were to stumble onto the site, would you want your child seeing the contents?
  3. Due to child-protective laws, a prospective applicant must be over the age of 18. Sometimes it is hard to tell ... but if you do see an age anywhere that makes the potential applicant under the age of 18 ... do not invite them.
  4. As a member, you are required to submit the URL's of all the sites you have left invitations at. Your group leader will send you an email reminder every two weeks, plus a roll call every Tuesday morning. I'm a slave driver, so I expect at least 7-10 sites visited every week and at least 3 invites.

About Inviting: OK ... Before you go running off and inviting someone, there are a couple of other guidelines.
  1. When signing a guestbook, your message must have a positive, pleasant comment about the site before you leave the LOL invitation.  Why is this so important?  This will keep potential complainers from accusing us of spam.  Plus, you really should know a little about a potential sister ... and the best way to do that, is to read through their site :-)
  2. When filling out the fields in the guestbook, please be sure to fill in all the fields and answer honestly.

  3. From here you're ready to invite, so click here to get the code.  There are specific rules for websites to be considered and there is a way we like the invitation to look.
  4. Keep track of those sites you visited.  Wordpad, Notepad, Word, Excel, Email ... whatever you got, will be just fine.  Once a week, you'll send your info in and reply to roll calls :-) That's it!
